Surprisingly limited in scope. Content skimpy ... Can this really be the same as the print edition? If yes then "how the mighty have fallen. The free Evening Standard app actually has more to read.

Most user-unfriendly app I have ever installed. Can take up to two minutes to load and even then its out if date. Some pages refuse to load at all and the navigation is confusing and jerky. Try the Guardian to see how a newspaper should work.

It has always been very slow, but in the last few months it has completely stopped working: it can take hours trying to load an issue and then it suddenly crashes. Sorry, but this is absolutely no good publicity for the Independent.

Poor spelling, inaccurate grammar, americanisms and semi-literate columnists make the online edition of The Independent unworthy of the title of a serious newspaper. A little attention to style, grammar and punctuation would possibly help, but the total absence of qualified sub-editors make this paper a pain to read. Errors we might have looked forward to pointing out in the Guardian 40 years ago appear all too regularly in the Independent. What a shame.

This is a useless buggy App. Im going to cease my subscription unless the paper finds some way of solving the incompatibility between the App and Facebook. Since subscribing, I have not been able to post to FB or tweet any material.

Last week I have downloaded a copy of the newspaper on both my ipad and iphone. Now its lost (it does not appear in downloaded issues) and restoring past purchases does not work. In the carousel on the main page is possible to go back to just 5 issues before. They want you to subscribe. Well if they cannot make it work with the single issues, imagine the mess with the subscription...

Sometime good, sometime not, try and see.

I wont be using your app anymore. In case you are not aware, there are plenty of free apps on the net. Whomever decided to start charging for information that is readily available for nothing, in my opinion, is out of their mind.

Seriously! 1.99 for an article when you can get it for free on the Internet! Delete!

While charging $1.99 for an article is definitely a rip off, if you subscribe to the full paper then it is well worth it.

OK, so the "app" is free, but it is useless unless you pay for content. Good bye.

Too annoying to be true! Animated ad appears all too often and is very distracting. In todays edition the same story is repeated on page 3 and 4 of UK news. No less than six articles from yesterdays edition appear in todays. Four articles about the UK appear in the World News section. There are only 5 articles about world news in the whole paper. Canceling subscription now. Even two stars may be too many!

This app looks good and works well but is unreadable because of the constant half page adverts flashing on the pages. I do not mind advertising but in this case it ruins the whole experience. The trouble is that the advert is always there, everyday. I have stopped using it and will not subscribe.

But nothing really great. It is a wonderful newspaper to be sure, but the app only features certain articles and I have no idea how they determine which ones to include but most are missing. So not worth paying full price per month for a fraction of the content. Too bad.

I like the independent but HATE the fact that this app displays a full page popup advertisement after every few pages that I am forced to close before reading further. And this DESPITE the fact that I pay for the subscription! To make matters worse its always the same ad. Please fire your marketing director. Hes a moron thats loosing you customers.

Awful. Just awful. Difficult to navigate and very slow. The iPhone version is my favorite news app, but this new iPad version is an abomination.
